Personal Disputes

Dealing with a dispute can be a daunting prospect. Whether you are considering bringing a claim or put to the trouble of defending one, we will look to assist you in developing a cost-effective and pragmatic approach personal to you and your case.

Whilst you may have to be prepared to go to Court to resolve your dispute, we are always mindful of alternative solutions such as alternative dispute resolution, independent determination, arbitration and mediation.

Every dispute is as unique as its individual facts. Whatever the dispute, we are dedicated to achieving the best possible result for you.

We have particular experience in dealing with the following types of dispute and you will find more information on them within each link:

All of our dispute matters are supervised by Martin Stafford, a director and solicitor with over 15 years’ experience of a range of disputes. Martin previously worked for large National law firms before establishing SDM Legal in 2018 with the intention of providing a bespoke service to clients new and old.

Martin’s motivation for establishing SDM was to enable him to have greater control over who he works with;

“We are selective in the cases and the clients that we take on and prefer to work with clients who share our approach to business.”

“In 17 years as a solicitor, I have acted in a range of cases involving both the everyday and the extraordinary, often at the same time. Every case is unique to the client that it is happening to and I do not lose sight of that client. My approach is to aim to combine legal advice with the practical realities involved. There is nothing to be gained from the needless pursuit of principles at the expense of everything else. I have been lucky enough to act for a lot of interesting people and look forward to working with many more.”
